The Kommunales Kino guckloch plays in Villingen at the Kulturzentrum Scheuer, Kalkofenstraße 3a. Its first screening was on 5 October 1977, Werner Herzog's "Aguirre, der Zorn Gottes". The old Scheuer was torn down in 1991, and in the new building the cinema shares its hall with the local Rock- und Folkclub's concerts and with cabaret. The hall has about 110 seats with no fixed seating, a 5.00 x 2.15 metre screen, 2K projection and 5.1 Dolby Surround. A combined projector can still run 35 mm and 16 mm prints when needed. The association is run entirely by volunteers and regularly shows a short film before the feature. Its own programme magazine, "gaffer", comes out every quarter. The guckloch has won the Kinematheksverbund's prize for outstanding film programmes three times. The association has a second venue in Donaueschingen.
