Mengstraße 35, 23552 Lübeck
The Koki is Lübeck's municipal cinema, established in September 1994 and run since August 2007 by the Förderkreis Kommunales Kino Lübeck e.V. It plays at Mengstraße 35 in a single hall with 81 seats, fitted with DCI digital projection in 2013, and 35mm prints still run from time to time. The programme changes in weekly cycles from Thursday to Wednesday: European auteur cinema, American independents, films from Asia, Africa and Latin America, classics and documentaries, plus regular children's screenings. Foreign-language films are shown in the original with subtitles wherever possible. Tickets are reserved through the website, and the box office opens half an hour before each screening.
