Kleine Biergasse 3, 08056 Zwickau
The Kino Casablanca belongs to the Alter Gasometer, a sociocultural centre at Kleine Biergasse 3 in Zwickau. It plays on Tuesday evenings from 8 pm in the Saal. Since 1992 it has shown films outside the commercial mainstream, from countries such as Cuba, Vietnam or Finland. A themed discussion often follows, and one of its partners is the Heinrich-Braun-Klinikum. Originals with subtitles are marked in the film description. Admission is usually 5 euros, and some evenings are free. The building was the third and largest gasholder of the former gasworks, put into service in 1875. Gas was produced here until 1900. After 15 months of conversion it opened as a cultural centre on 23 August 2000.
