Friedrichstraße 19, 72072 Tübingen
The Blaue Brücke is a cinema on Friedrichstraße in Tübingen. It opened in 1958 and is named after the neighbouring railway bridge; the Tübingen architect Hermann Hepper designed it. The house was closed from March 2020 and reopened on 27 December 2023 after a technical and energy refit. The largest of its three auditoriums, Tarantino, seats 216 and has a 3D screen, Dolby Atmos and 4K laser projection. Spielberg seats 131, and Kubrick in the basement seats 95. The programme is mostly blockbusters, German hits and family films, some of them also shown in the original with German subtitles. Kubrick hosts two monthly series, Weird Wednesday and the Queer Movie Club. It is run by BEWEGTE BILDER Kino GmbH & Co. KG, which also runs the Museum and the Atelier.
