Kino am Rathaus Oelde

The Kino am Rathaus is on Bernhard-Raestrup-Platz, across from Oelde's town hall. It opened on 15 July 1982 as the "Filmzentrum", and Thomas Fußner has run it since 1 January 2008. Its three screens have 69, 54 and 40 seats, all with Dolby Surround 7.1, and screen 1 also shows 3D. A renovation from July 2020 to September 2021 enlarged the screen in the largest hall from 13 to 18 square metres. The cinema won the North Rhine-Westphalia cinema programme prize for many years, and for 2015 and 2016 it was also honoured by the federal Minister of State for Culture and the Media. Adults pay 10 or 11 euros and wheelchair users get in free. Parking at the town hall across the street is free from 6 pm.
