The Heidekrug hall at Brunoldstraße 1 opened in 1897 as the ballroom of the Gaststätte Hohenzollern and served as a cultural hall, cinema included, until the end of the GDR. From the mid-1990s it stood empty. In 2010 the Kulturhaus Heidekrug 2.0 association took it over, restored it with volunteer work and reopened it on 5 March 2011. The first screen was bed sheets sewn together. Since 2016 there has been a community cinema every Friday at 19:30, run with MoKi Güstrow. Admission is 6 euros, tickets are sold only at the door, and no reservation is needed. Through the Bundesverband Jugend und Film the association also shows children's films, for instance during the school holidays. In 2025 the house received an award for local commitment in the "Kino, das wagt" category of the Kinopreis des Kinematheksverbundes. The hall also hosts concerts and theatre. Access is step-free.
