Filmtheater Zwiesel

The Filmtheater Zwiesel on Dr.-Schott-Straße 7 was built in 1949 as a single-screen cinema with 600 seats. The Probst family now runs it in its third generation. At the end of 1979 the hall was split into Arber and Bambi, and in 1986 a third screen, City, went into the former projection room. Today Arber seats 256, Bambi 89 and City 43. All three halls got new seating in 2001 and 2004, and Arber gained a raised platform for every row. In February 2013 the house switched from 35 mm to digital projection. In 2024 funding from BKM and LFA went into a "Grünes Kino" upgrade: a rooftop solar array with battery storage, plus ventilation with heat recovery and a new heating system. The box office opens 30 minutes before each screening.
