Filmtheater Winterberg

The Filmtheater Winterberg on Nuhnestraße has been run since 1999 by Joachim Wahle, the third generation of the family. Walter Berenbruch opened it in November 1943 in what was then the Schützenhalle, and in 1952 built a new cinema with more than 400 seats on the current site. Since 2000 it has had two halls. Kino 1 has 122 seats, Dolby Atmos and six D-Box seats, and Kino 2 has 70 seats and five sofas. Both halls use laser projectors. On Mondays the Filmkunst in Winterberg series runs, alongside evenings like Kino & Vino with a wine tasting. Since switching to digital projection in 2009 the house has won the Programmpreis of the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW every year.
