Filmtheater Twistringen

The Filmtheater on Bahnhofstraße has one hall with 111 seats and a 12-metre screen. In May 2022 the Kreiszeitung reported that the cinema would close in August. More than 30 supporters then founded the Filmtheater Twistringen association on 22 June 2022 at the Hotel zur Börse. When the operator announced in September that the cinema would close for good on 30 September, the association took the house over itself, renovated it with its own members and showed its first film on 27 October 2022. The programme mixes current releases and classics with the "Kirche und Kino" series and concert films. Every year the film of the Twistringen Schützenfest screens here too.
