Breite Straße 1a, 14467 Potsdam
The Filmmuseum Potsdam sits in the Marstall, the historic court stables on Breite Straße next to the Brandenburg state parliament. Its collection covers a hundred years of film history in Babelsberg and beyond. The museum runs one cinema with a programme every day except Monday, when it is closed. The screen mixes older classics, films from the GDR, recent releases that audiences nearly missed, children's matinees and themed series with introductions and talks. Silent films are accompanied live on the historic Welte cinema organ. Films shown in their original language are marked OmU for subtitles, and the rest are screened in German.
