The FilmForum Höchst is the Frankfurt Volkshochschule's municipal neighbourhood cinema, with around 700 screenings a year. It grew out of the VHS Filmstudio, which from 1969 showed 16 mm films on Thursdays in the Volksbildungsheim in Höchst. The collective has carried its present name since 21 November 1975, marked with a screening of Alice in den Städten. Since 1987 the cinema has played in the building of the former Höchst cinema, which it shares with the Neues Theater. Films run in their original language, with German subtitles where possible. On Tuesdays the German dub is shown when available, or subtitles for the hard of hearing for German-language films. Children's films not in German are dubbed. On Thursdays the house shows its documentary of the month. A regular ticket costs 8 euros, 6 euros reduced and 4 euros for children's films, and seating is unreserved. There is no step-free access: a staircase leads into the cinema.
