Central-Kino

Films have played at the Centralkino on Marienstraße 8 since 30 December 1911, at first under the name Lingener Lichtspielhaus. The cinema got a new building in 1938. On 31 December 2007 the owner ended commercial operation, though the house still belongs to the same family. In summer 2008 local residents founded the association Centralkino e.V., whose volunteers have programmed it since; the operator today is the Kulturzentrum Centralkino Lingen e.V. There is one hall. Alongside new films the house shows classics and silent films with live music by Piano Pete Budden, as well as cabaret and readings. Opening hours follow the programme.
