Speyerer Straße 107 a, 67117 Limburgerhof
The Capitol in Limburgerhof opened in December 1954. It was built by the winegrower Gerhard Wolf, originally with 513 seats. After two renovations it now has 274 in a single auditorium, still lit by its original cone lamps, and some of the wooden folding seats date from the opening years. The building has been a listed monument since 2010. The cinema closed in December 2014. Its owners Susanne Deickert and Dieter Janneck reopened it in summer 2015 with a volunteer team and a digital projector. Alongside current films it runs the Mädelsabend, with a glass of Sekt after the film, and live relays of concerts, opera and ballet. The films of the Kunst im Kino art series run in the English original with German subtitles. In the KinoLingo series, which the cinema puts together with the vhs Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis, films run in the original language with German subtitles. A regular ticket costs 9 euros, plus 1 euro for energy costs during the heating season. Long films cost nothing extra. Cards are not accepted.
