Sandberg 3a, 17235 Neustrelitz
The Fabrik Kino is in the Alte Kachelofenfabrik, a former tiled-stove factory on the Sandberg in Neustrelitz. The first Fabrikkino opened in the old metal workshop in June 1993. In May 2000 the Fabrik Kino 1 followed in the former glazing room, a Programmkino that plays every day with two different films a day. The Fabrik Kino 2 in the old workshop is run by the house's film club. The programme covers current German and international films, films from the archives of the Deutsche Kinemathek and the DEFA-Stiftung, and silent films with live music, along with talks with filmmakers. It receives the Kinoprogrammpreis of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media every year, and the Kinokulturpreis of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
