The BALI, short for Bahnhofslichtspiele, is a cinema in Berlin-Zehlendorf. It began in the 1920s as a dance hall and has been a cinema since the end of the war. In the 1970s, under Manfred Salzgeber, the founder of the Arsenal cinema, it was one of Germany's leading political cinemas. Films run on a screen of 8 by 4 metres, and the programme leans towards Eastern Europe, which the house calls Kino der Nachbarn.
