The BALi Kinos are two arthouse screens in Kassel's KulturBahnhof, run by Filmladen Kassel e.V. The larger BALi reopened on 1 November 1995 and has 262 seats on a raked podium and a screen of 5.50 by 13 metres. The smaller BALi followed in 1996 with 87 seats. A lift makes both halls step-free. Projection has been digital since 2012, and 35mm and 16mm prints and silent-film events are still possible. Foreign-language films play in a German version or in the original with subtitles, and the version is marked on each screening.
