Windhuker Straße, 13351 Berlin
At the edge of Wedding, where the Volkspark Rehberge spreads its sandy clearings between Müllerstraße and the Plötzensee, the Freiluftkino Rehberge sets up roughly 1,500 seats each summer in a wooded basin that feels considerably further from the city than its address suggests. Operated by the Freiluftkino Berlin GbR alongside its Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg sisters, this is the chain's calmer northwestern outpost — a place where local families settle in for early-evening showings before the main programme begins. The dune-like landscape of the Rehberge, a remnant of Berlin's glacial geography, gives the cinema a setting unique even among open-air venues in Germany. Recent German releases dominate the schedule, with weekend matinees for younger audiences and occasional original-version evenings. The atmosphere is unhurried and distinctly Weddingisch — neither hip nor staid, simply at home.
