Each summer the Kulturforum becomes an open-air cinema, with the screen set between the Neue Nationalgalerie and the Philharmonie: Mies van der Rohe's glass building on one side, Scharoun's golden concert hall on the other. The Sommerkino runs in partnership with ARTE, the Franco-German television channel, and shows seasonal highlights, classics and thematic retrospectives under the open sky.
