Hans-Poeche-Straße 7, 04103 Leipzig
The Cinémathèque's main open-air changes address from year to year: it began on Conne Island in 2007 as the 2cl and has also played the Moritzbastei as the 1cl. For 2026 it sits in the courtyard of HP7, a listed commercial yard at Hans-Poeche-Straße 7 in the Graphisches Viertel, built in 1860 and worked in ever since — a joinery, wood restorers, photographers, illustrators and film people have rooms around it, and a 1940s precision-mechanics workshop survives on the ground floor. The season runs from 26 June to 22 August, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 21:00. The programme is the association's own rather than a summer best-of: documentaries on eastern Germany and Leipzig's changing east, queer cinema, recent European arthouse and one deliberately trashy cult pick, nearly all in the original with subtitles. There is no roof and they play in any weather.
