rex Filmpalast Pforzheim

Bahnhofstraße 30, 75172 Pforzheim

The Rex Filmpalast in Pforzheim has welcomed audiences since 1953, operated by the Geiger family across three generations. Pforzheim, known as the gold city for its centuries-old jewellery and watchmaking industries, sits at the northern gateway to the Black Forest, where the Nagold, Enz, and Wuerm rivers converge. The city was almost entirely destroyed by a single devastating Allied air raid in February 1945, making its post-war cultural institutions particularly significant. The Rex, with five screens and a premium lounge concept, represents the continuity of family-owned cinema in a city that has had to rebuild not just its buildings but its entire sense of self.
